The Draft Tube Conundrum

The Draft Tube Conundrum

This little object, arrived at the landing stage today and was loaded onto the barge, along with a set of sluice gates, a small dumper truck, several scaffold boxes full of kit and a pump.
The reason for all this extra kit was to get the barge low enough in the water to fit under the low suspension bridge that goes to our neighbours garden. (The pump was to pump water into the barge). It didn’t work….. The thing was still 6″ too high.
Sokoban in real life.
Try again tomorrow.

Shuttering

Shuttering

Shuttering almost ready to pour concrete walls on Monday.
(not so good this morning as pumps tripped out again overnight)

The final submission for our appeal to the Environment Agency is due in next week. They have provided about 200 pages of documents which we have to comment on. This blog is just prevarication

Working with water!!

Working with water!!

The pumps tripped out overnight and this morning the builders arrived to an underwater site. The shuttering is almost in place for the concrete walls to be poured next week. Meanwhile, it’s all hands to the pump to get it dry again.
